Three WiFi-connected, autonomously driving trucks operated on the autobahn with authorization for public traffic in a platoon formation. The DRIVE PILOT controls the speed and distance to the vehicle ahead and steers the car within its lane. At speeds up to 30 km/h, it automatically forms an emergency lane. Furthermore, it can recognize and react to unexpected traffic situations. The S-Class with DRIVE PILOT is able to circumvent a breakdown vehicle within its lane, for example.
