Overheating of an ESC can be caused by over voltage, over amperage, or shoddy soldering/connections. The voltage should be OK but check the battery with a volt meter anyway. The DA is $550 w/o muffler, muffler is another $90-$110...a bit pricey to me. The DLE & RCGF look VERY similar, RCGF is 12 grams lighter (insignificant).
